The Florida Department of Transportation said a stretch of Interstate 75 (I-75) was closed after being flooded by rising water from the Myakka River on Friday, September 30.

The Myakka River peaked at 12.67 feet (3.87 m) early Saturday morning after Hurricane Ian passed through the state, according to the National Weather Service.

Footage captured by Brittany Rose, which she said was taken on Friday, shows inundated vehicles on the I-75 in North Port. Local, state and federal officials continued search and rescue operations in areas impacted by Hurricane Ian, according to the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles and Florida Highway Patrol.
