Firefighters were credited with saving up to 60 vehicles from burning after stopping the spread of a fire at a multi-story car park in suburban Sydney on Tuesday, March 21.

Fire and Rescue New South Wales said over a dozen firefighters were called to the scene in Bankstown just after 3:15 pm, where they “got down on their hands and knees” to extinguish the blaze.

Footage released by Fire and Rescue New South Wales shows two burnt-out vehicles at the car park in West Terrace. A further four were damaged.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a woman for smoke inhalation before transporting her to hospital, the fire service said.
