Protesters gathered outside Tennessee’s state capitol building in Nashville on Thursday, March 30, demanding gun reform legislation following Monday’s shooting at the city’s Covenant School.

Footage captured by Jessalyn Wanlim shows people chanting and carrying signs on Thursday morning. Local politicians including Democratic State Rep. James “Bo” Mitchell appeared to cheers.

On Wednesday night, a citywide vigil was held and attended by political and media figures including first lady Jill Biden and singer Sheryl Crow. Speaking at the vigil, Nashville Mayor John Cooper said the shooting was “our city’s worst day.”
