The National Weather Service (NWS) issued multiple tornado warnings for parts of southwest Ohio as severe thunderstorms lashed the area on Wednesday, July 6.

Local media reported that buildings had sustained heavy damage and thousands were left without power following the storms. At least three people had been injured, WLWT5 reported, citing local officials.

The NWS said it would survey affected areas on Thursday.

“Based on radar data and initial images from around the Goshen area, it is believed a tornado was responsible for at least some of the damage,” the service said.
