President Joe Biden greeted United Auto Workers (UAW) members as they picketed at General Motors’ Willow Run Redistribution Center in Belleville, Michigan, on September 26, in a historic show of support for unions.

The president told the crowd they deserved a significant raise, and other benefits, later adding that, “Wall Street didn’t build the country. The middle class built the country. And unions built the middle class, that’s a fact.”
