Lightning Flashes Over Australian Gold Coast as More Than 1,000 Strikes Reported

More than 1,000 lightning strikes were recorded across the southeast coast of Queensland on Tuesday, September 17, as thunderstorms swept the region.

This footage shows a lightning strike illuminate the evening sky in Broadbeach, on the Gold Coast, where hundreds of strikes were recorded.
