Local Bishop Leads Prayers at Scene of Mexico Church Collapse

A local bishop led prayers at the site of a deadly church collapse in Ciudad Madero, Mexico, video released after midnight on Monday, October 2, shows.

The diocese said the bishop of Tampico, Jose Armando Alvarez Cano, was blessing the rescue efforts “and all those who have generously joined together in this great tragedy.”

At least 10 people died after the church collapsed on Sunday afternoon, El Sol de Tampico reported.
