French dominate windfoiling pre-Olympic debut

Windfoiling will finally get its big debut at the 2024 Paris Olympics

In the meantime, the French have every right to feel confident

that they can win medals in their home games

At the iQFOiL World Championships in Switzerland

Hélène Noesmoen and Nicolas Goyard, both French

were crowned champions of the competition

WOMEN'S RACE WINNER, HELENE NOESMOEN, SAYING:

"Oh, it feels really great. It was a hard race on a hard day with a really shifty wind, so I'm really happy to win at the end and it's a big relief after this week to win the world title."

MEN'S RACE WINNER, NICOLAS GOYARD, SAYING:

"I'm just relieved. I mean, it was just like a long week. We had two weeks without the wind and then three long days sailing. I managed to come first after the week so it was like kind of big job every day. And then to make everything back to zero and to make it all over again it's kind of hard, it's like, and just to come first the line, and on the race to say okay, it's coming, it's so, so good, like really!"

The competition featured 150 competitors from all over the world
