Metals rally, Nasdaq hits a high: Market takeaways

It was another busy day on Wall Street, with investors closely keeping an eye on earnings reports. Stocks ended the day mixed (^DJI,^GSPC, ^IXIC), with the Nasdaq closing at a record high. Another big mover was metals, with gold (GC=F) reaching a new record high. All eyes are on Nvidia (NVDA), though. Investors seem to be on pause while they await the chip company's quarterly results on Wednesday after the market close.
