A goliath stick insect was captured pulling its own abdomen out of its molt in a mesmerizing video by an insect enthusiast in Queensland, Australia.

Lisa Van Kula Donovan said she happened upon one of her pet stick insects molting.

Sharing the video to Instagram on February 16, she said: “I wasn’t expecting it at all. She was nearly done, had swung up to hold on to her own molt and is pulling her own abdomen/tail out of the molt. Pretty cool!
