CHP: Sacramento man wearing ankle bracelet ran from crash that killed teen, injured 2 others

A driver is accused of trying to run away after hitting three pedestrians over the weekend, killing one of them, officials said. Marquis Leon Johnson, 29, was booked in the Sacramento County Jail on hit-and-run and vehicular manslaughter charges, according to jail records. The California Highway Patrol said in a press release that Johnson was speeding southbound on Stockton Boulevard toward McMahon Drive when he failed to stop a red light and slammed into the front of an 83-year-old woman who was making a left turn at McMahon Drive to get into a nearby shopping center. After crashing into the woman's vehicle, Johnson's vehicle veered to the right into a sidewalk and hit three pedestrians.
