Thousands of PG&E customers lose power in Calaveras, Tuolumne counties due to weather conditions

Thousands of Pacific Gas and Electric Company customers in Calaveras and Tuolumne counties have lost power due to an outage on Saturday. PG&E's outage map shows clusters of outages as far north as Sheep Ranch and as far south as Aspen Valley. The exact number of customers being impacted by the outage is unknown and restoration times vary depending on the location. Many of the outages are being caused by weather, according to PG&E. Heavy rain and lightning strikes have been detected on Doppler radar according to KCRA 3 meteorologist Dirk Verdoorn.
