Napoleon the miniature bull saved from slaughterhouse

This tiny bull had a lucky escape

'Napoleon'

He was rescued from a farmer

who was planning to send him to the slaughterhouse

Napoleon was born with a congenital genetic defect

meaning that the eight-month-old has already reached full height

He's now joined a new herd at an animal sanctuary in southern Germany

Arrow: 2.6 feet / 80 cm

(SOUNDBITE) (German) TEACHER AND ANIMAL SANCTUARY STAFF, LUKAS BECKER, SAYING:

"Napoleon belongs to the Dexter breed, which produces rather small cattle anyway. They grow up to be about 1.20 cm (3.9 feet). With his 80cm (2.6 feet) he is of course far below that. Despite his size, he feels like a complete bull and is in a good mood. He has settled in with us very quickly, which we are very happy about. He also has a lively effect on the herd."

Napoleon now lives with 100 other animals at the Schneiderhof farm

along with his foster mother called Laura

"Napoleon is especially fond of his foster mum, Laura. We rescued her last year in June and the two of them are very close and spend almost every moment together."
