STORY: Volunteers with a group called ‘Youth allied to the environment’ helped carry the orca out of the sea and into a tub to await a medical examination.

The head of Yucatan Autonomous University’s Marine Biology Department, Raul Diaz, said the orca appeared to have some pulmonary problems.

The pygmy killer whale (Feresa attenuata) is a poorly known and rarely seen oceanic dolphin.
