STORY: This might be the first kebab to make it to space

…Well, almost

It was launched by a restaurant owner in Turkey to mark the 61st anniversary of the first human spaceflight

EMRE GUL, YOUTUBER:

"We have prepared the parachute and placed the kebab on a tray with a GoPro. We are ready to launch it. We will let it fly after attaching the Turkish flag to it."

YASAR AYDIN, RESTAURANT OWNER:

"Yes, it cannot be launched without the Turkish flag."

The kebab was tied to a large helium balloon and made it to an altitude of about 25 miles before landing in the sea off of Turkey’s southern coast
