Scuba divers took to the water for some Halloween fun during an underwater pumpkin-carving event in Wazee Lake, in west-central Wisconsin, on October 15.

Video taken by photographer Dick Rowe shows members of the Central Wisconsin Scuba Club float around a sunken dock to carve pumpkins during the annual scuba event.

Speaking to Storyful, Rowe said that divers empty out the insides of the pumpkins before getting in the water, and often add lead weights to keep the gourds from floating to the surface.

“[The event] serves no real purpose other than for a bunch of folks who like scuba diving to get together and have some fun,” Rowe said, adding that the event is usually the last time most divers will get in the water until spring. Credit: Dick Rowe via Storyful
