Typhoon Khanun left at least two people dead and more than 70 injured after hammering the Japanese island of Okinawa between August 1 and 4, broadcaster NHK said; the storm was expected to bring more dangerous weather to Okinawa over the weekend.

This footage, released by the US Marine Corps on Friday, shows several downed trees at Camp Lester on Okinawa.

The typhoon weakened slightly over the East China Sea, but on Friday the Japan Meteorological Agency said the storm had changed course, turning east, and would impact Okinawa again through the weekend, along with the Amami Islands in Kagoshima Prefecture. Credit: US Marine Corps via Storyful
