UK zoo welcomes rare 'dancing' lemurs

A video shared by Chester Zoo showed the duo of Coquerel's sifaka lemurs dancing their way through the enclosure as they move sideways in a characteristic manner.

Named Beatrice and Elliot, the two eight-year-old lemurs traveled from the Duke Lemur Centre, North Carolina, to help establish a new conservation breeding program for the rare primates, Chester Zoo said in an emailed statement.

Native to Madagascar, the Coquerel's sifaka lemurs are listed as critically endangered species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
