Lily Allen makes TV acting debut in 'Dreamland'

STORY: Allen told Reuters "It was very different to anything that I've done before. I've only really acted in theatre before. So it was it was a big departure from that."

At its core, 'Dreamland' is a female-led series, featuring an all-female writers room, and a predominantly female cast and production team.

“I think when you're making programs about, you know...or female led programs, quite often they are written by men, or, you know, commissioned by men. So they're, sort of, female from the male gaze, maybe and it doesn't feel quite so authentic. And I think this really feels real in that sense," Allen said.

All episodes of 'Dreamland' will hit Sky Atlantic and Now TV on April 6.
