Nissan creates the self-driving golf ball

The ball uses an overhead camera to detect the location of the ball and hole.

A monitoring system then calculates a route to the cup based on the ball's speed and trajectory.

The golf ball is part of promotion for Nissan's new ProPILOT 2.0 driver assistance system which will feature in the new Skyline car, due for launch in Japan in September.

The driver assistance technology uses the vehicle's navigation system to get the car to a destination on a predefined route.
