Turkish artillery hits targets in northern Syria

STORY: Ankara launched air operations into Syrian and Iraqi territories after the bomb attack. Nobody has claimed responsibility and Kurdish groups the PKK and YPG have denied involvement.

Turkish drones hit oil installations late on Wednesday (November 23) near the Syrian town of Qamishli, as well as the oil-rich area Rumeilan, near which U.S. troops are located, according to three sources in the Syrian cities of Qamishli and Hasaka.

Turkey resumed hitting militia targets on Sunday as Defence Minister Hulusi Akar paid a visit to a Turkish military base at the Iraq border.

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, addressing his AK Party supporters in Istanbul, said on Sunday (November 27) that Turkey is determined the exercise its right to secure its borders.
