At a White House gathering about the rise of antisemitism and ways to fight it, second gentleman Doug Emhoff, the first Jewish spouse of a president or vice president, said, "There is an epidemic of hate facing our country." He later called antisemitism "dangerous," adding, "We cannot normalize this."
