Barrage of rockets fired from Gaza at Israeli cities overnight as conflict continues
Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) launched a barrage of missiles from the Gaza Strip toward Israeli cities late on Saturday night (6 August).
Israel's Iron Dome missile defence system intercepted many of the missiles.
One of PIJ's top military commanders, Khaled Mansour, was killed in an Israeli air strike on a house in Rafah in southern Gaza on Saturday.
The latest conflict is the most serious between Israel and Gaza since an 11-day conflict in May 2021.
