STORY: This year the top prize was awarded to a Yorkshire Terrier dressed up as Wednesday from "The Addams Family."

"She is Wednesday, (although) she already took off the wig because she's a bit annoyed," said Wednesday Yorkshire Terrier owner Saida Malgarejo, who was dressed up as Morticia Addams.

Other top costumes include Willy Wonka from “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" and “Barbie.”

Judges considered creativity, originality, family involvement in the crafting of the costumes and the participant's performance during the runway.

The contest takes place every year during the Halloween season to promote adoption and responsible pet ownership.
