April’s full moon, known as the Pink Moon, was spotted rising off the coast of northeast Florida on the evening of Tuesday, April 23.

X user @annatheenigma captured this footage of the moon rising above the horizon.

According to NASA, the Pink Moon is named after a wildflower rather than the actual hue of the celestial body. The flower, known as moss pink or creeping phlox, is native to the eastern US and is one of the earliest widespread signifiers of spring. Credit: @annatheenigma via Storyful
