Police Warn Aspen Residents to 'Be Bear Aware' After Hungry Bear Destroys Unlocked Car

The Aspen Police Department warned residents that bears will raid “your trees, your homes, and even your cars” to find food, after releasing footage of an unlocked car destroyed by a bear on November 2.

This video shows the car’s doors, seats, and ceiling shredded, with an “extra special surprise” of bear poop left in the back.

“We have a band of bandits in Aspen who will stop at nothing for a good snack,” wrote the department in the video’s caption.
