Flying for the holidays? Here's when to buy your ticket

The holidays are fast approaching. If you want to fly, when you buy your tickets is an important factor in how much that flight will cost you. Yahoo Finance’s Rachelle Akuffo is joined by Hopper Lead Economist Hayley Berg, who says that Thanksgiving and Christmas ticket rates are expected to increase after October 14th, so “it is time to start planning.” In comparison to the past few years (excluding 2020), airfares are “looking really good” for Thanksgiving travel, but Christmas travel has seen an uptick in comparison to 2019.

If flying internationally— “when you travel matters” states Berg, referring to off peak travel dates.
