Pregnant Flying Foxes Look Ready to Burst

Wildlife carer Denise Wade has rehabilitated a number of very pregnant little red flying foxes at her rescue organisation, Batzilla the Bat, in Brisbane, Queensland.

“Mating and giving birth six months out of sync with the other (three) species, Little Reds are around half the size of blacks, greys and spectacled flying-foxes but their single baby can weigh up to a sixth of their body weight,” she wrote on Facebook.
