Flash flooding hit parts of western New York on Friday, August 9, as remnants of Storm Debby brought moved through the region.

Footage filmed by Kaylyn Kernan shows land and streets submerged by floodwaters in Canisteo, Steuben County, on Friday afternoon.

The flooding prompted multiple water rescues and evacuations in the region, local media reported.

By Saturday, “most” of the flooding subsided in the region and temperatures would remain cool, the National Weather Service said. Credit: Kaylyn Kernan via Storyful
