[Muhammad Jahzar, Director of Restoration, Sanaa's Military Museum]

“This is a group of antiquities from the Maenian period, which are bronze daggers dating to around the 2nd or 3rd century BC. They are in bad and worn condition and we, in the repair and restoration department, are restoring them.”

The museum is itself affected by the ongoing conflict in Yemen

Employees say restoration materials are scarce because of a blockade by a Saudi-led coalition

[Sara al-Dubai, Archaeologist]

“The number of bronze pieces is very large. They are in deplorable condition, and need restoration as soon as possible. However, due to the current situation, the materials used in the restoration are not entering Yemen, so we have been late in restoring the bronze antiquities.”
