A giant Ferris Wheel opens in NY's Times Square

LOCATION: NEW YORK

A Ferris Wheel has opened in Times Square

Rides last 12 minutes and cost between $15 and $35

Customers get a bird's eye view of midtown Manhattan

the so-called 'Crossroads of the World'

New Yorkers say the attraction has lifted their spirits

"I don't remember the last time I've been on a Ferris wheel, really. That was so much fun. I thought it was one of the nicer ideas to do for New York and, you know, opening up."

"Oh, I loved it. It was really fun. It was special to be able to go that high in a Ferris wheel in Times Square. How often do you get that opportunity? Never."

But some aren't so impressed

"This was eh. It wasn't exciting at all. I didn't feel like it was worth the $30. I thought I could go up to the elevator in one of the hotels and get a better view."

The attraction lasts until September 12

Rides are available from noon to midnight
