‘The president bears responsibility’ -McCarthy

Representative McCarthy will not be joining at least six House Republicans voting to impeach President Trump, saying "impeaching the president in such a short time frame would be a mistake, no investigations have been completed, no hearings have been held," but does not believe President Trump is free from fault.

"He should have immediately denounced the mob when he saw what was unfolding," McCarthy said, adding that "he must accept his share of responsibility."

McCarthy said that a fact-finding mission and censure resolution from Congress "would be prudent."
