Russian Military Targets Ukrainian Positions in Kursk

The Russian Armed Forces said they held off a Ukrainian attack on the town of Korenevo in the Kursk region, in footage posted on Wednesday, August 14.

Analysis by the Institute for the Study of War and the American Enterprise Institute’s Critical Threats Project said the town lay at one of the furthest points of Ukraine’s incursion.

Ukrainian forces continued their incursion into Russian territory overnight, targeting multiple Russian regions with a barrage of missiles and drones and triggering a state of emergency for the entire Belgorod region.

Belgorod’s governor, Vyacheslav Gladkov, announced the move on Telegram, calling the current situation “extremely difficult and tense,” according to a translation by Suspilne News.
