Yahoo TV Satellite Imagery Shows Extent of Australia Flooding in Regional Victoria
Satellite imagery shows the extent of flooding in the Australian town of Rochester, after heavy rain caused floods across the state of Victoria.
This footage sent to Storyful by Maxar Technologies shows before and after images of the floods in Rochester, taken on October 15 and 16.
Emergency warnings remained in place for the area, on Tuesday, October 18, with Victorian emergency services urging locals to move to higher ground immediately.
The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) said flood levels had peaked along the Campaspe River at Barnadown, Rochester Town and Echuca.
“Significant rainfall is forecast from later this week, which may lead to renewed river level rises and flooding in the Campaspe River”, the BOM added on Tuesday. Credit: Maxar Technologies via Storyful
