Siberian shaman invokes spirits as Russians vote

STORY: The descendant of the last shaman from the disappearing small Yukaghir people conducted a ceremony of good wishes at the polling station. He lit a fire and fed the spirits of the ancestors, hoping they would provide those present with luck and guidance in their vote. He then blessed his audience using the fire.

Afterwards, a local dance ensemble performed traditional dances of the small Northern peoples of Yakutia.
