Wildfire smoke from Canada and the western United States was captured swirling over the midwest and east coast on Wednesday, September 4.

Satellite imagery released by the Cooperative Institute for Research in the Atmosphere (CIRA) shows smoke from the west coast getting caught up in a “low” over the intermountain west and smoke from Canada making its way over the midwest and east coast on Wednesday, the agency said.

“Skies from the Pacific to the Atlantic are infiltrated by wildfire smoke,” CIRA said.
