Snow Begins to Pile Up in California Mountains, With Several More Feet Expected

An atmospheric river storm brought more than a foot of snow to the Sierra Nevada mountains of Northern California, on Friday, March 1, footage shows, with up to 10 more feet on the way, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Footage posted to X by the UC Berkeley Central Sierra Snow Lab shows snow piling up at their base in Soda Springs, California, on Friday morning. The lab said they recorded 19.1 inches of snowfall in the last 24 hours.
