Palestinian horseback rider readies for her big race

STORY: This Palestinian teenager dreams of becoming a famous horsewoman

and competing at international horse riding competitions

"My father had an equestrian club and my brother used to go there everyday, and I used to go with him to help them and then I started enjoying riding horses with them."

The 13-year-old trains intensively five days a week

She says it keeps her mind off the unstable situation in the Palestinian territories

"The difficulties that we face is that when we participate in international tournaments, we cannot take our horses with us. So we rent horses but not the best ones, sometimes the worst. But with all of that, we participated in February in a tournament, and we rented good horses and we achieved very good results.”
