Stingray Chows Down on Frozen Ball of Sardines

A keen underwater photographer captured footage of a stingray eating a frozen ball of sardines in Port Phillip Bay, Victoria.

Diver Jules Casey told Storyful that she filmed this video while scuba diving at night under Blairgowrie Pier on May 22. Posting it to Instagram she said the frozen treat came via a fisherman, who threw the sardines back into the water from the pier.

“Rarely do we ever get to watch what happens underneath a stingray when it’s eating,” said Casey, who is based on the Mornington Peninsula, which is on the shores of Port Phillip Bay.

Casey often posts footage of what she sees below the waves at Port Phillip Bay to her OneBreathDiver Instagram account, where she has over 90,000 followers.
