Storm Clouds Swirl Into Tornado in West Texas

A swirling storm cloud seen from near Midkiff, Texas, turned into a tornado on the ground on Thursday, May 30.

Footage recorded by Chad Casey shows the developing supercell.

At one point, a tornado can be seen reaching down towards the ground.

Other weather watchers spotted the tornado south of Midland, seen from State Highway 349, on Thursday afternoon.

A separate tornado was seen from Midland International Air & Space Port.

Severe thunderstorm and tornado warnings were issued for the area on Thursday.
