Floodwater on Highway 1 in Abbotsford remained at around two feet deep by the afternoon of November 17, the Abbotsford Police Department said as officers assessed the situation.

The City of Abbottsford issued evacuation orders for all residents in affected areas on Tuesday, as severe flooding hit in the wake of excessive rain. Several of those were rescinded late on Wednesday.

British Columbia Premier John Horgan declared a state of emergency in response to what’s been called the “storm of the century.”
