Postman Makes Special Delivery as Cancer Survivor Gets Van Load of Birthday Cards and Gifts

A postman in England had to devote an entire van load to just one lucky customer, when a 10-year-old cancer survivor was inundated with cards and gifts.

In footage posted on Facebook, postman Jon Giles can be seen knocking on birthday girl Abbie Paice’s door with two full bags. He then leads the amazed Abbie to his van, which is packed with boxes of presents and cards.

“Normally when I have got my van I deliver to the whole area – about 500 houses,” Giles tells the young birthday girl in the footage. “But today I am just coming to your house because my van is full and it’s all for you.”

The 10-year-old, from Chartham, in Kent, has recently marked five years in remission after being first diagnosed with leukemia as a two-year-old, according to Kent Online. She had been feeling unwell lately, the news site said.

“We are just absolutely blown away by the number of cards she got,” Lisah Paice, the girl’s mother, told Kent Online after issuing a plea for birthday wishes a number of weeks ago on social media.

“We never in a million years thought it would reach as far as it did.”

She added, "We haven’t been able to count them, but we think there are approximately 2,500 cards and packages.
