State of Emergency Declared as Lake Erie Floods Port Clinton, Ohio

A state of emergency was declared in Port Clinton, Ohio, on Friday, May 28, after wind-blown flooding from Lake Erie pushed into the city.

Footage shared by Fisherman’s Wharf, a fishing supply store located on Lake Erie’s shoreline, shows the shop and surrounding streets flooded.

Mayor Mike Snider declared a flood disaster state of emergency for Port Clinton on the afternoon of May 28, citing impassable roads due to high water, as well as downed trees and power lines.
