Australian Snake Catcher Removes Python Sleeping Behind Chair Cushion

A snake catcher in Queensland, Australia’s Sunshine Coast region snatched a carpet python curled up in a comfy spot behind a chair cushion on a customer’s deck on August 3.

Footage shared to Facebook shows Stuart McKenzie from Sunshine Coast Snake Catchers 24/7 carefully removing the snake from its “sneaky” hiding spot and then releasing it into nearby bushland.

“A lady came out to her deck to enjoy the winter sunshine when she noticed something strange hiding under the cushions on her outdoor setting. She wasn’t sure if it was a snake or a lizard so she gave us a call to come and relocate it,” McKenzie wrote in a Facebook post.

“When I arrived I could only see a tiny section of the carpet python under the cushion, so it is lucky that the lady saw it before she decided to lay down,” he wrote. Credit: Stuart McKenzie via Storyful
