The bat-signal lit up buildings around the world on September 21 in celebration of Batman Day, an annual event started by DC Comics to celebrate the legacy of the caped crusader.

2019 marks 80 years of Batman, with events on Saturday scheduled for major cities including Berlin, Paris, Barcelona, London, Sao Paulo, New York, Montreal, Mexico City, and Los Angeles.
