'Better Not Fall': Fisherman Spots Shark Swimming Within Meters of Land in New South Wales

A New South Wales resident witnessed a shark swimming in Eden Wharf on June 1 as he prepared to depart for a day of fishing.

Drew Mudaliar captured footage of the striking sight of a shark swimming within meters of dry land, later posting the video on social media.

Later the same day, he told the Newcastle Herald that he was confident that the shark in question was a mako shark, before adding that he noticed that the shark had a wound.

He said, “It definitely had like a wound on its head [that] appeared to be about the size of a fist, but it didn’t look fresh or anything – it wasn’t bleeding.” Credit: Drew Mudaliar via Storyful
