Lake-effect snow produced whiteout conditions for parts of upstate New York on Friday, February 28, the National Weather Service reported.

A daylong blizzard warning for Oswego, Jefferson, and Lewis counties warned of eight to 16 inches of snow, strong wind, reduced visibility, and blowing snow. The NWS reported snowfall rates of one to three inches per hour through noon on Friday.

Southeast Copenhagen in Lewis County already totaled 28.5 inches of snow Friday morning with more expected throughout the afternoon.
