Brawl Breaks Out in Stands as Browns Face Bengals

Despite social distancing precautions, a fight broke out between football fans at a Cleveland Browns versus Cincinnati Bengals game at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland, Ohio, on Thursday, September 17.

This video shows security personnel attempting to break up a fight between fans, as one Browns fan does his best to hold his beverage above the fray.

It’s unclear why the fans were fighting. Cleveland native Andrew Garson, who recorded the video, blamed the brawl on “drunk fans” who weren’t “following the rules.”

Local reports said about 6,000 fans attended the game Thursday evening in the 67,895-seat stadium. Most seats were zip-tied to prevent use.

Attendees had to sign a “health promise” pledging to not enter the stadium if they are sick. Fans who signed the “health promise” also agreed to keep their masks on unless they are eating or drinking, The Cincinnati Enquirer said. Credit: Andrew Garson via Storyful
