Residents from communities north of Perth were urged to evacuate as a major bushfire threatened Two Rocks and Yanchep on December 13.

Fire authorities told people in several local areas to move south, while others were warned that they should plan to leave their homes if necessary.

A video posted to Instagram by Martin Lockhart shows burnt-out bushland following a blaze near houses at Yanchep that had been targeted by aerial firefighters.

“It’s been a hectic couple of days for Yanchep! Bushfires ripping through our National Park and close to homes. Thanks to all our Fire fighters for keeping us safe! True Legends!” Lockhart said in his post.
