Heavy rainfall in Cedar City, Utah, caused severe flooding on July 26, with more than two inches of rain recorded in about an hour, according to the National Weather Service.

Footage taken by local resident Codi Perkins shows about a dozen cars, including her own, submerged in floodwaters at the apartment complex she was cleaning.

“It wasn’t like this an hour ago when I got here,” Perkins said in the video.

On Monday, the mayor of Cedar City, Maile Wilson-Edwards, declared a state of emergency, describing the damage caused to “public and private property” as “extensive.” Credit: Codi Perkins via Storyful
